Jeff was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2009. Before joining the firm as an associate, he clerked at the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Jeff was awarded the Raymond G. Herbert Award for being determined by his peers to be the best all-round graduating student in his law class at the University of British Columbia. During his legal studies Jeff also won prizes in intellectual property law and was named a UBC Wesbrook Scholar.

Before turning to law, Jeff worked at an industry-sponsored research laboratory. Jeff has Bachelor and Master degrees in Applied Science from Simon Fraser University. His graduate work in the area of wireless networking was supported by the Canadian Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council through a Post Graduate Scholarship and a Canada Graduate Scholarship. Parts of this thesis have been published in peer-reviewed IEEE publications.
