Jennifer was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2008. She completed her legal studies at the University of Victoria, where she received numerous awards including the Fasken Martineau DuMoulin Prize in Intellectual Property Law Research. She was awarded the Law Society of British Columbia Gold Medal for being the top student in her graduating class. As part of her law degree, Jennifer completed the International Intellectual Property Law program at the University of Oxford. Prior to articling with the firm, Jennifer completed a clerkship at the British Columbia Supreme Court in Vancouver. She is an adjunct professor of law at the University of British Columbia, where she lectures on copyright law.
Before commencing legal studies, Jennifer completed a B.Sc. (Honours) in Biochemistry at the University of British Columbia, where she completed an eight month co-op placement at a local biotech company. She also holds an M.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto, where she received an NSERC Postgraduate Scholarship and was selected as a Connaught Scholar. Her Master’s thesis focused on the quantitative in vivo effects of mutations in the Sho1 SH3 domain in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and the resulting publication was jointly awarded the Beckman Coulter Award for best graduate student publication in the Biochemistry Department.
