Mr. Bailey joined the firm in 1988 following his call to the Bar in British Columbia. He has been a partner since 1995. He was awarded several academic scholarships while attending university and finished among the top ten students in his law school graduating class. Mr. Bailey is an adjunct professor of law at the University of British Columbia where he lectures on patents and industrial designs. He is a member of the Biotechnology Legislation Committee of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and has published numerous papers on intellectual property law topics, including the patents chapter in the Continuing Legal Education Annual Review of Law & Practice. Outside of the office, Mr. Bailey coaches youth soccer and enjoys outdoor activities.
