BIOGRAPHY
Michael Fink was called to the bar of British Columbia in 2011. He completed his legal studies at the University of British Columbia legal program in 2010, receiving a Juris Doctor. He competed for the University in the national Laskin bilingual moot competition in both 2009 and 2010, achieving top oralist for the team and second place factum in 2010. Mike also spent a semester in the Master of Laws program at the University of København in Denmark studying, among other things, Intellectual Property from a European perspective. In 2008 and 2009, Mike worked as a summer student with Oyen Wiggs Green & Mutala LLP before proceeding with his final articles.
Before commencing his legal studies, Mike received his Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. While there, he helped design prototypes including a remote controlled greenhouse gutter vacuum and an automated parkade car detection system. He also received awards such as the Chancellor’s Scholarship for all around achievement and leadership.
In his spare time, Michael is active in sports, and enjoys volleyball, ultimate Frisbee, soccer, and basketball. Trained in jazz, he plays piano and the trombone. An avid traveller, Mike’s destinations include Argentina, the Netherlands, Hawaii, Mexico, and Switzerland. He is fluent in French.
