Prior to obtaining her law degree from the University of Victoria,
Amy obtained a B.A.Sc. in Engineering Physics from the University
of British Columbia and completed engineering work terms at
Creo (now Kodak), Raytheon, British Telecom, and Abatis (now
Redback Networks). She also holds an ARCT Piano Teaching Diploma
from the Royal Conservatory of Music and taught piano for six
years.
In the course of her education she received several
awards, including the B.C. Premier's Excellence Award and the
President's Scholarship for academic excellence in law at the
University of Victoria. Amy's paper, "Unmasking the John
Does of Cyberspace: Surveillance by Private Copyright Owners",
won the 2005 Canadian IT Law Association Student Writing Competition
and was published in the Canadian Journal of Law and Technology.
After graduating from law school, Amy clerked for one year in
Ottawa for the Honourable Justice O'Keefe of the Federal Court, before returning to Vancouver to complete her articles
at Oyen Wiggs Green & Mutala LLP.
Amy enjoys baking, travelling and outdoor recreational
activities, especially hiking.
