The New ‘.XXX’ Domain: is Prevention Better than the Cure?
Trademark owners should be proactive to protect their rights as new top level domains (TLDs) become available On April 1, 2011, ICANN signed an agreement with ICM Registry to launch a new ‘.xxx’ TLD. .xxx, specifically designed to benefit the international online adult entertainment industry, is expected to go live in December, 2011.

Good News for Canadian Patent Owners
Owners of Canadian patents are breathing easier after the Federal Court of Appeal in Corlac Inc. v. Weatherford Canada Inc., 2011 FCA 228, put to rest the suggestion that the requirement to reply “in good faith” to the Examiner during prosecution of Canadian patent applications provides a basis for invalidating issued patents.
